Summary
The School of Theological Studies at Missional University invites applications for an online staff position as an experienced Human Resource Specialist who will perform tasks throughout all areas within the HR Group. In addition to recruiting and placing workers, human resources specialists help guide faculty and staff through all human resources procedures and answer questions about policies. Applicants must have prior experience in a seminary or Christian university and have a strong understanding of Scripture. Applicants must be conversant in missional literature and thought.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the updating of job descriptions
- Source potential candidates from various online channels (e.g. social media and professional platforms like Indeed, LinkedIn, StackOverflow, Behance)
- Craft recruiting emails to attract passive candidates
- Screen incoming resumes and application forms
- Contact candidates (via email, text, video calls)
- Advertise job openings on company’s careers page, social media, job boards and internally
- Provide shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managers
- Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation
- Monitor key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire
- Participate in online job fairs and host in-house online recruitment events
- Participate in online training for Deans and Directors across the university
- Collaborate with Deans and Directors to identify future hiring needs
- Act as a consultant to new hires and help them onboard
- Maintain candidate documentation and personnel folders
To accomplish the tasks, the person will need a deep rooted understanding of the mission and vision of equipping a multi-ethnic, global, evangelical Christian audience, a firm grasp of human resource processes, and demonstrated intercultural communication skills.
The position requires the ability to dive in with little supervision and work thru the HR process with applicants in consultation with administrators, staff and faculty.
The ideal candidate has experience in human resources in a university or theological institution with excellent interpersonal communication skills and the requisite technical skills to accomplish the objectives. The ideal candidate will work online, must be fluent in English and have a stable internet connection, their own computer and needed software.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related area
- At least 3 years of human resources experience in a college, university or theological institution
- Proven experience working as an HR recruiter
- Broad knowledge of human resources technology tools and their use in attracting and retaining talent
- Ability to think creatively, collaboratively and strategically
- Ability to relate interculturally to ethnically diverse backgrounds globally
- A vibrant Christian testimony
- Practical missions experience in his/her own country of origin or beyond
- Agreement with the faith and ethos statements of the Missional University
- Passionate about the mission, vision and core values of the Missional University
