Join Our Team as an Animal Welfare Officer (Part-Time)
We are looking for a caring, responsible, and dedicated Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) to join our team. If you love animals and are seeking flexible part-time work, we warmly welcome your application.
This position is open to retirees, homemakers, and students aged 18 years and above.
The Animal Care Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the treatment, care, and overall well-being of animals in our shelter. You will help execute prescribed treatment and enrichment plans to support their welfare and potential adoption.
This role is largely based in a semi-outdoor environment, and applicants must be physically fit. On occasion, you may be required to assist Animal Rescue Officers with difficult rescue cases.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning and sanitising animal enclosures, ensuring a safe environment
Feeding and administering medication to animals
Washing and sterilising feeding equipment
Observing animals for signs of disease or injury and reporting to the Shelter Supervisor or Executive
Bathing animals according to schedule and maintaining cleanliness
Exercising animals and conducting enrichment programmes
Completing required checklists to support overall shelter operations
Working closely with the Shelter Manager and Animal Care Executives to execute enrichment, treatment, and rehabilitation plans
Conducting adoption appointments and screening potential adopters
Providing post-adoption support
Supporting ad-hoc events and organisation-led projects
Job Requirements:
Able to communicate in written and spoken English
Experience working with animals is an advantage (not compulsory)
Strong passion for animal welfare
Meticulous and detail-oriented
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Physically fit and comfortable working in a semi-outdoor environment
