About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help people start and grow careers teaching AI: discover projects, build a unified training portfolio, and apply in minutes. OpenTrain AI is the hiring organization for this role.
Why AI training matters
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building real-world AI systems. Contributors annotate, review, and rate model outputs so AI behaves accurately, safely, and usefully. This work is remote, flexible, and often accessible to domain experts who want part-time work that directly shapes how state-of-the-art systems behave.
The role
We are recruiting a Fintech & Crypto Subject-Matter Expert to evaluate AI-generated text about fintech, payments, and crypto/Web3. You will review model responses for accuracy, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence; identify technical and risk-related issues; and produce high-quality explanations, scenario analyses, and model solutions that demonstrate precise reasoning and sound judgment.
This is a contractor, part-time engagement requiring at least 20 hours per week. Work is paid per hour and focuses on text-based evaluation and generation tasks (evaluation ratings and text generation).
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
- Time requirement: 20+ hours/week
- Data type: Text (EVALUATION_RATING, TEXT_GENERATION)
What you'll do
You will use your fintech and crypto expertise to judge and improve AI outputs. Tasks emphasize practical, safety-first reasoning and clear written explanations.
- Review AI responses for correctness, clarity, safety, and prompt adherence
- Identify errors in financial product logic, payments flows, blockchain transaction mechanics, custody and key management, and smart-contract risk
- Evaluate fraud, AML, sanctions, consumer-protection, and disclosure considerations
- Write gold-standard explanations, scenario analyses, risk write-ups, and model solutions that show precise reasoning
- Compare and rank responses based on reasoning quality and practical usefulness
Requirements
Candidates must have substantial real-world experience in fintech or crypto and strong written English skills. We will verify domain knowledge during assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years professional experience in fintech, payments, banking, crypto, or adjacent domains
- Strong understanding of payments and money movement: authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, fees, and rails (card networks, ACH, wires)
- Solid grasp of crypto/blockchain fundamentals: transaction lifecycle, confirmations, on-chain vs off-chain, wallet signing, and token mechanics
- Risk mindset covering fraud vectors, account takeover, social engineering, custody risks, and safety-first guidance
- Minimum C1 English proficiency with strong written communication
- Ability to judge AI answers for accuracy, safety, internal consistency, and practical usefulness
- Prior experience with AI data training, financial content QA, risk/compliance review, or technical writing is strongly preferred
Who should apply
Apply if you enjoy explaining complex financial and cryptographic concepts clearly and can evaluate model outputs with a practical, risk-aware perspective. This role suits senior practitioners, product-risk specialists, payments engineers, compliance professionals, crypto protocol engineers, and technical writers with fintech experience.
- You should be comfortable writing clear, concise model solutions and risk analyses
- You should be available for at least 20 hours per week and able to work asynchronously in a remote team
