We are a family in the Junction/High Park area looking for a reliable, playful after-school nanny for our 5-year-old son.
James is curious, imaginative, and full of energy. He might spend an afternoon building robots out of cardboard, asking a million questions about how the world works, chasing bugs in the backyard, or talking about cats. He is funny, bright, and loves Pokémon, paper airplanes, and a good joke. Like many kids, he sometimes has big feelings after school, so we are looking for someone calm and patient who can help him transition from school to home in a positive way.
What We Are Looking For
Someone who can pick James up from school (Keele Street PS), get him home safely, and make those after-school hours feel relaxed and fun. We would like someone who can balance play and structure and who enjoys engaging with kids rather than just supervising them.
Responsibilities
School pickup (the school is on the subway line and we're a short walk away)
After-school snacks and playtime (inside or at the park)
Light tidying up with James before parents get home
Helping him wind down for the evening and maybe fit in a little homework
Occasional evening babysitting for date nights
You Will Be Great At This Role If You
Enjoy spending time with kids and keeping them engaged
Are patient, calm, and able to handle after-school energy and emotions
Can gently set boundaries while still having fun
Are reliable and consistent (bonus if you live nearby)
