Summary
The primary function of the Security Officer is to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and guests. The Security Officer will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior. You must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the hotel in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
oEnsure that all guest needs and requests are completed in a timely manner.
oEnsure to follow through on all issues and discrepancies as pertaining to Security.
oBe aware of tone and composure when addressing guests and other Associates.
oEnsure that guests' names are used throughout your interaction with them.
oMaintain knowledge of all hotel functions and services.
oPatrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
oAssist guests with luggage as necessary.
oAct as concierge when in the hotel lobby.
oMaintain and submit daily surveillance activities and important occurrences logs of all suspicious activity, or anything out of the ordinary requiring follow ups.
oEnsure all guestroom doors are closed, and all public access doors are locked. (Secure all exit and doors throughout your shift)
oFamiliarity with report writing
oEnsure all security alarms and camera feeds are functioning.
oRespond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
oCheck surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
oAdhere to key control policies.
oFollow Emergency Protocol as per the situation. (Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area)
oApprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
oLifeguards - pool coverage as needed.
oAttend mandatory meetings and hotel functions
oComply with all company standards and policies as established in the employee handbook.
oOther duties as required.
Certifications
Eight and sixteen-hours security certificates. Lifeguard/CPR Certified preferred. FSD certification preferred.
