The Senior Analyst of People Analytics at CarMax plays a crucial role in leveraging data analytics and strategic problem-solving skills to inform major people decisions and initiatives impacting the workforce of 30,000 associates. This position is part of the HR Strategy team, which collaborates to shape key decisions across the organization while upholding CarMax's core values of integrity, people-first approach, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Advance Key HR Initiatives by bringing a data-driven perspective to influence strategic decisions in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Associate Experience, Compensation, and Benefits.
Build Transformational Analytical Tools including datasets, predictive models, machine-learning algorithms, and reports to drive business performance.
Deploy Tests to Drive Change by designing and analyzing operational and statistical experiments to evaluate and make recommendations about key business changes.
Synthesize and Present Data by transforming complex datasets into key insights and presenting value-creating ideas to leaders across the organization.
Requirements
A track record of excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and quantitative/qualitative analysis.
Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support conclusions, and proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI.
Ability to apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex problems, produce results, and make recommendations.
Ability to communicate complex topics to people with varying backgrounds and levels of technical familiarity.
Willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with a team of passionate analysts and business partners.
Two or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role.
Four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance.
