VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC NEW BUSINESS

CLASSIFICATION Year-round; Full-time

FLSA Exempt

REPORTS TO Chief Executive Officer

LOCATION Park City, UT

TRAVEL 20% of travel requirements

SALARY $180,000-$200,000 DOE, 20% annual bonus potential

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

U.S. Ski & Snowboard is looking for a new strategic commercial role to oversee new revenue generating business opportunities outside of the Foundation, Commercial Partnerships, Broadcast, Licensing and Membership. This role will work with the CEO and members of the Executive team where appropriate to develop and execute on new business opportunities. These may be wholly operated by USSS, or could be joint ventures or partnerships with other entities or individuals. A few of the existing opportunities this role will lead includes but not limited to the following:

 

 

  • This role will oversee the newly launched fan membership program, Insider, to take it to the next level in order for it to become a significant fan engagement, brand building and revenue generating platform.
  • This person will also be responsible for developing and executing a new travel & experiences vertical, an exciting opportunity that USSS is looking to launch next season.
  • The role would also manage our new strategic partnership with Ski Austria, to help us optimize this on and off the snow, working closely with our Chief of Sport.

In time there will be other revenue and new business opportunities that this role will be responsible for exploring, to assess whether they are worth adding to the portfolio.

 


COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

  • A proven track record of launching and managing one more or revenue generating businesses
  • Commercial experience with identifying and negotiating business partnerships
  • Experience at fully managing projects, with an eye for detail and overseeing all aspects of a business from startup to established business, with a willingness / eagerness to roll up sleeves to accomplish work
  • Experience of working with a broad range of different business divisions and stakeholders
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, that also enjoys managing the day-to-day operations
  • Experience in the sports, consumer and/ or travel & lifestyle sectors
  • A passion for what USSS does

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely requires effective communication with others using common telecommunications equipment and computer equipment. Must be able to read, examine, and organize documents written in English. May require the ability to sit, stand, and walk around for extended periods of time. May require work on weekends, nights, holidays, and on-call basis.
