Structural Engineer (Fit-out and Refurbishment)

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer (Fit-out and Refurbishment) on a contract basis. This role focuses on retail fit-out and refurbishment, especially high-end retail in historic buildings. The position is based in London and demands a flexible approach to working hours. Key Responsibilities: Experience in retail fit-out and refurbishment, particularly high-end retail in historic buildings Reviewing contractor\'s fit-out information, design, and assessment of existing structures Liaising with the Client and contractor, preparing fee proposals and project documentation Collaborating as part of a busy and friendly project team Conducting site visits from 8 am in Central London, with potential early finishes; must be prepared to come into Central London every day if required, including Fridays. Job Requirements: Experience in civil engineering with a focus on building and rail sectors Proven experience in retail fit-out and refurbishment, especially in high-end retail within historic buildings Ability to review and assess contractor\'s fit-out design and existing structures Effective communication skills for liaising with Clients and contractors Strong organisational skills for preparing fee proposals and project documentation Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential nights and weekends Ability to conduct regular site visits and coordinate with the project team on-site and in the office If you are a civil engineer with significant experience in fit-out and refurbishment, particularly in high-end retail within historic buildings, and are looking for a challenging contract role, we would love to hear from you
