About the position

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day consumer media relations for Uber's mobility, delivery, and platform businesses.
  • Develop and execute strategies for new products, partnerships, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Craft clear, compelling and accurate communication plans for upcoming initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute events ranging from large-scale productions to intimate dinners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists in the consumer space.
  • Liaise across internal teams including Marketing, Ops, Product, Legal and more.

Requirements

  • A seasoned professional with 4 years of proven experience in communications, PR and events.
  • The ideal candidate will have both agency and in-house experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 years of proven experience in communications, PR and events.
  • Superb writer: you're able to distill complex ideas into simple but credible messaging.
  • Self starter: we're a company of entrepreneurs and want to work with people who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and building things from the bottom up.
  • Go-getter: you're used to working calmly under pressure and able to pivot when necessary in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Creative thinker: you're able to analyze trends and identify creative ways to make Uber relevant.
  • Events extraordinaire: you can run a red carpet, know the right photographers and events writers, have a keen eye for event design and elements, and can work a room.
  • Team player: you have experience working with others on complex projects to get stuff done.
