Job Summary:

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Housekeeping, the Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for hotel guests. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality service.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months’ previous housekeeping experience and is observant, professional, and able to remain calm under pressure while delivering excellent service and maintaining a strong presence on the property, contributing to overall positive guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and reset guest rooms according to hotel standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and restocking amenities
  • Replace used linens and towels with fresh, clean items
  • Replenish guest room supplies such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and drinking glasses
  • Perform turn down service as needed
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables
  • Inspect rooms for damage, maintenance needs, or missing items, and report issues to the supervisor
  • Organize and restock housekeeping cart at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleaning guidelines and procedures
  • Respect guest privacy and follow hotel protocols for entering occupied rooms Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests or questions when encountered during room cleaning
  • Handle lost and found items according to hotel procedures
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks or special projects as directed by management
  • Work cooperatively with fellow team members to meet daily room quota and quality standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with guests and team members in English sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Dependable, punctual, and positive attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-stress or emergency situations
  • Professional demeanor, integrity, and the ability to provide exceptional service
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., report writing, camera monitoring systems)
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 6 months previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Ability to push, and pull up 50-150 pounds
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for cleaning and reaching overhead
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
  • Indoors in guest rooms, corridors, and service areas
  • Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Fast-paced and repetitive work environment
  • May have frequent contact with guests
  • Must be able to work AM and PM shifts
Pay Rate – First 90 days $23.84, after 90 days $26.49 Pay: From $23.84 per hour
