Base pay range Sightsavers is looking for an experienced international development, policy or education professional to help us influence the development of inclusive education and international development policy. Location: UK, remote Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time (35 hours) or part time (28 hours) with some flexibility around hours worked About the role We are seeking an experienced international development, policy or education professional to influence inclusive education and international development policy. We believe quality, inclusive education is a human right and should be accessible to all children, regardless of gender, disability, socio-economic background, location, ethnicity, or other characteristics. As Policy Officer - Inclusive Education, you will conduct policy analysis, work with the Senior Policy Adviser on global influence in education, focusing on the inclusion of people with disabilities, and support engagement with external stakeholders to shape policy. You will help ensure children with disabilities can access equitable, inclusive, quality education by: Conducting high-quality policy analysis and generating evidence to support Sightsavers\' education policy objectives. Contributing to the delivery of education policy goals through engagement with relevant policies and processes. Representing Sightsavers at external forums and networks to disseminate analysis and influence target audiences. Prior experience in education policy is not essential, but a background in international development, inclusion, and the ability to represent Sightsavers externally are required. This role offers an opportunity to leverage your knowledge of education, advocacy, and policy to influence international development and champion inclusive education for every child. Some travel may be required, with flexibility around this. Requirements To succeed, you will have: Experience in policy analysis Understanding of international development issues related to education, inclusion, and human rights Experience supporting policy influence at national/international levels Ability to represent the organization externally Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal Ability to handle complex ideas and build relationships with stakeholders Experience in education policy analysis (highly beneficial) Awareness of challenges faced by learners with disabilities This is a varied role; please read the full job description for details.
