THE POSITION

The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) is looking for a customer service driven professional to join our team as a Business Services Representative (BSR). In this position, you have the opportunity to increase employment opportunities and retention of OVR customers by promoting OVR services to businesses, stakeholders, and potential customers. As a forward-facing role, the BSR serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for local employer partners, while helping the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) connect OVR customers to available jobs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Business Services Representative, you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships with local employers and stakeholders to help fulfill OVR’s mission of assisting Pennsylvanians with disabilities to secure and maintain employment and independence. Work involves acting as a liaison between employers, providers, and district office staff in support of established district office programs and customer placement opportunities. In this role, you will be required to maintain employer relationships established by VRCs and other VR staff through regular contact via phone, email, virtual, and in-person meetings. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Promoting on the job training (OJT), apprenticeships, paid work experiences, and supported employment
  • Preparing and updating informational material for outreach activities
  • Providing Disability Awareness training
  • Participating in job fairs and hiring events
  • Researching employment trends and barriers

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day
  • Work hours are generally 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but may be negotiable, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. AWS (alternate work schedule) may be available.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in York. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree that includes 24 credits in the behavioral sciences; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 credits in the behavioral sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
