Join Verisk’s Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on data science experience in a hybrid London-based role with potential full-time career growth.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
Gain hands-on experience across the data science workflow including data wrangling, modelling, visualising, evaluating performance, and productionising.
Work with various insurance types such as motor, home, commercial property, and liability to assist in risk evaluation and quantification.
Extract data from structured and unstructured sources and contribute to process improvements like claims assessment and decision-making.
Participate in projects spanning proof-of-concept demonstrations to robust operational systems ready for production.
Collaborate on large-scale data analysis, real-time data analysis, and anomaly detection involving insurance policy and claims data, imagery, and documents.
Work as part of a project team addressing data challenges relevant to risk assessment and valuation.
About You
The company is looking for:
Strong programming skills in Python and its open source libraries.
Proficiency in SQL; understanding of NoSQL query languages is a plus.
Interest in machine learning and statistical concepts including supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning, optimisation, evaluation of models, probability distributions, dimensionality reduction, sampling, Bayesian methods, and handling missing data.
Ability to work in a hybrid schedule requiring presence in the London office at least 2 days per week.
