Business Intelligence Report Developer (must be located in the Twin Cities Metro Area)

About the position

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI reports and dashboards: Create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards to help users understand data and make informed decisions.
• Transform and cleanse data: Prepare data from various sources for analysis and reporting, including data cleaning and transformation tasks.
• Develop and execute database queries: Write and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with business users to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Maintain and update reports and dashboards: Ensure reports and dashboards remain accurate, up-to-date, and relevant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Identify and resolve technical issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Stay updated on Power BI best practices and new features: Continuously learn and improve skills in Power BI development.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must have experience and proficiency in Power BI Desktop, with a strong understanding of Power BI's features and functionalities.
• Experience with other BI tools or technologies (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Python, R) is a plus.
• SQL knowledge: Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Data modeling skills: Ability to design and implement data models for efficient reporting.
• Data transformation and cleaning skills: Experience with data transformation and cleaning techniques.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts: Knowledge of data warehousing principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze data and identify solutions to business problems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Data Quality Assurance and Validation: Perform data validation to ensure consistency between source systems and BI reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
