Penguin Random House Children’s is seeking a dynamic Key Account Executive to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will manage sales to a diverse range of gift and high-street accounts, expanding our reach beyond traditional book retail. This is a unique opportunity to be creative, work with iconic brands, and contribute to the success of our books through collaboration with PR, Marketing, Design, Production, and Editorial teams. Collaborate closely with your line manager to achieve team sales targets. Manage your own accounts, building strong relationships, securing repeat business, and communicating effectively with clients. Lead your own projects and customer meetings with confidence. Provide feedback to editorial and marketing teams on book suitability and performance. Coordinate with Production and Inventory Management on costings and deliveries. Perform daily administrative tasks, including raising Purchase Orders, using industry-specific software, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, cost chasing, invoice chasing, reporting, clearing permissions and royalties for Direct Sales customers, and processing orders with meticulous attention to detail. Comfort in a sales environment and the ability to lead customer meetings. Proficiency in using multiple in-house systems and overall computer literacy. A collaborative spirit, happy to support team members. An interest in children’s books or the publishing industry. Sales or buying experience in retail or publishing.
